Lemon-Pepper Green Beans

Grocery stores and gardens are chock full of summer fruits and vegetables in their prime: sweet corn, tomatoes, berries, beans and more. If you like green beans, you’ll love this recipe.

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1.5 pounds fresh green beans, stem ends snipped or snapped off
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. When butter starts to sizzle, add green beans and sauté until tender, about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Squeeze lemon juice on the beans.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and stir to coat. Cook for an additional minute.
